on a multi-day backpacking trip through Sweden!

in Shelton, CT on September 18th! She says "It's a tough job being a beauty queen" :-)

April placed 1st in Rally Advanced and was High Scoring Malamute at the Snow King Alaskan Malamute Fanciers Specialty Show Rally Trial on August 14th with a score of 98!!! Woooos to Pat and April !!!

Oh joy! Toys with eyeballs! And squeakers that still work!
The pre-Christmas week brought snow to western Oregon
much to the delight of April
Unfortunately the heavy snow and ice damaged a lot of trees
But April is doing her best to help Pat clean up the mess in their yard
Sometimes having a dog with the 'Beaver Gene' comes in mighty handy!

Gemma is ever so gentle with her toys
Unlike her *bad sister Stealth* and *bad mother Cruiser*
who have de-eyeballed and de-nosed and de-squeakered and de-stuffed their toys
Just a few of the eyes and noses that they have removed...
Right now they have a toybox full of mostly blind toys ;-)
There is good snow in Finnish Lapland and Gemma is running in harness!
It was great to see these 2 littermates and their owners at the 2008 AMCA National Specialty!

Turbo placed 1st in Rally Novice with a score of 99 to finish his RN title!
April placed 4th in the class with a score of 88!
Besides coming to the Regional and National Specialties for the Rally competition,
April got to try her hand at weight pulling for the first time
In the Novice class she pulled over 800 lbs. !
Turbo and his whole family made a vacation of the trip up to Washington
Mary and Wayne, Turbo's 1/2 brother Arwah and Scandal (the fox terrier) all made the trek
Their first stop was the Pacific Ocean beach at Grayland, WA - Thanks Wayne for all of your great pics!
Turbo thought that the kelp washed up on the shore was pretty cool
But he was much more proud of finding the only piece of driftwood on the beach

They attended the pre-National carting get-together and ran the dogs on the beach

He enjoyed *camping* at the hotel
On their way back home to California, they went up into the southern Cascade mountains
of Oregon to do a couple more days of carting

She's a great *role model* and helps them to adjust to new situations
She's had a nice summer

April and Pat took a ride on the 1.5 inch scale train with COALS, the Central Oregon Area Live Steamers
part of the the Eastern Cascades Model Railroad Club in Bend, OR

April meets another new friend. A great breed ambassador, she gained many fans that day

Turbo made his AKC Rally debut at the Fremont Dog Training Club on September 28th and earned his first Rally Novice leg with a score of 98 and 4th place!
Back home, he keeps himself entertained trying to pick plums off of the plum tree
...or is he trying to pick a squirrel out of the plum tree???
We got to see April compete at the Wenatchee Kennel Club Rally Trial on September 13th!
